HPI also check whether the vehicle is stolen, has been written off after an accident, etc. Also check that the Vehicle Identity number on the vehicle plate tallies with that on the Registration Document. And apply all the usual cautionary rules: - visit the seller's home - NEVER meet in a lay-bye, etc., and check that's the address on the reg doc. - check the displayed mileage with the service history (No service history? - Don't buy!) - if it doesn't seem right, walk away.
