Rodents

Probably best if this question had been added to Ian’s “MICE!” enquiry made 4 days ago.

Although it may be practicable to prevent small rodents from entering a motorhome’s habitaion area, they will find no difficulty getting into the engine compartment. As witzend has warned (at least with Boxers/Ducatos/Relays) there have been several reports of mice finding their way into the vehicle’s air-filter plastic housing and wreaking havoc there. The entry point is (effectively) outside the engine compartment,so even if traps are put inside the compartment (and that’s definitely worth doing) it won’t necessarily stop an adventurous mouse getting into the air-box and causing damage.

(As I mentioned in the above links I had DIYed anti-mouse mesh protection for the air-box, but did not like the result. I subsequently did a proper job using welded (not woven) stainless-steel mesh sandwiched between rubber sheeting.)

How? Where to put it Lady motorhomer

I just had some wire netting screwed it up into a ball You need on a Fiat type van to remove the end of the air intake pipe from the centre of the van by bonnet lock then push it in there when you screw it back afterwards no one can see it
