Guest Alf W
Assuming that you are coming up the west coast - M74, and assuming that you want the direct, rather than a scenic route - M74 to junction with M73 (J4/1) M73 to junction with M8 (J8/2) M8 to junction 30 then M898 M898 to A898 to A82 The M8 runs through the centre of Glasgow and apart from the usual motorway traffic is straight forward. If you're coming up the east side (A1) pick up the M8 anywhere between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Hope that helps.
Guest Geoff
We usually stay on the M8 straight through Glasgow, out past the airport and over the Kincardine bridge (well signed) Easy route to Loch Lomond.
Guest Alf W
Hi Geoff, Not the Kincardine Bridge I think, the Erskine Bridge is the name you're looking for. The Kincardine Bridge crosses the Forth not the Clyde, but otherwise we agree on the route !
Guest lorri
follow goeff's advice the route suggested through 883 is dodgy because the traffic lights have 3 intersections and it is difficult to figure when getting to it which is which, and yes its the erskine bridge then you have the easy job of up to loch lomond, also that particular intersection is busy from 7am until 7pm so the best route is the erskine bridge, anything else i can do let me know im from sunny glasgow and cycle that route a lot once on m8 the signs are as follows glasgow city centre, then it gives signs for airport and greenock, follow these keep following signs for greenock and you will start to see signs for erskine bridge, take erskine bridge and once off follow signs for balloch / loch lomond

Guest Docted
Bob If you want to come off the M8 and avoid the toll on the Erskine Bridge come offf at Jcn 17 and follow the A82, Great Western Road, you then pass one of the great caravanning institutions the Caravan Shop Glasgow which is on Great Western Road.If you need anything for the van this is a great place to visit. Guest Mel B
Alternatively you could do what we did - got totally lost in Glasgow due to redirection resulting from road works and then ask a nice policewoman in a snazy car which way to go towards Lock Lomond ... the result ... you get a police escort out of the city! I could swear she was called "Jackie" (of Taggart fame!). MelB
Guest RayJ
I too got 'Lost in Glasgow'whilst heading for my 'first ever' touring caravan holiday stopping 1st at Loch Lomond. My Mistake;staying in the left hand lane.(trying to be 'a good caravanner 'and keeping out of peoples way) I got 'funneled' off at the first junction, which wasn't very well marked. These type of junctions are a lot more common now,but usually better signposted. My advice;when in doubt, near an 'Offramp' pull into the middle lane(after signalling of course)then you don't end up seeing some of the more 'seedy' parts of Glasgow trying to get back onto the M8.
