Satellite TV

If the TV that is installed has a satellite tuner built in then you are good to go. On the remote control there should be a button for 'source' which will bring up a menu - select satellite.

If the TV doesn't have a satellite tuner built in then you will need a satellite box - Freesat or your own Sky box from home.

Simply put, your dome will need a programmer/controller box, such as those supplied by RoadPro at Daventry, which controls which satellites the dome looks for and locks onto. This box receivges signals from the dome via an aerial cable and is then connected by an another aerial cable to either a Freesat receiver or other digibox, eg sky, which then connects by HDMI cable to virtually any TV which is less than 20 years old. Just select HDMI from the source menu on the TV itself, and then you select your channels from the Freesat receiver.

Freesat receivers can be purchased from £40 upwards and Satellite controllers from £450 upwards. Hopefully, you have a Sat controller hidden in a cupboard somewhere. Mine is screwed to a wall within a high level cupboard. It has a 12v supply cable and aerial in/out ports.

Hope that helps.

NB - If you need to buy a new controller for the dome, you need to decide whether you will be travelling to Europe or not as some controllers will not pick up European Satellites when over there. They are adequate for the UK though.
