Bop
An interesting link in the Press & Journal yesterday: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/politics/scottish-politics/2219810/exclusive-tourists-could-remain-banned-from-the-scottish-islands-for-several-months/amp/ Interestingly enough, I am on all of the Shetland and Outer Hebrides forums and all of the island residents keep saying "tourists please stay away until 2021". We were hoping to buy a house up there this year so our house and motorhome plans look to be on hold for a few more months. I hope the link works, Andrew

Although, to be fair, we have had a recent spell of good weather.
Barryd999
Its going to be tough for some of those islands. The Isle of Arran is one of our favourite haunts and its 80% tourism based for its economy. On the one hand those businesses are going to be desperate to get going again but on the other there are a lot of vulnerable elderly people living there. Given the feeling here in the Dales about outsiders travelling to the tourist hot spots I think it might be a case of being welcomed by some but not by others. Dont think we will be doing any Scottish Islands for a while. A lot of these places are going to be devastated though if they dont get a tourist season and / or support. Some friends of ours loved holidaying in the Outer Hebridies every summer and reckonend overall to get good weather - but the winters, oh the winters!
