trialsrider
My son has managed to sheer off one of the two lugs which are on the window catch on my top hinged S4 window. I'm trying to buy a replacement but they all look right handed catches. Leisure lines sell them and advertise only one but it looks the right handed one. I'm sure they are handed and not reversible. Could anybody advise me on this. I've attached a photo of the broken one in situ. Mine is definitely black.
trialsrider
I've just emailed leisurelines and they say they only sell one version. I'm sure it is right handed. https://leisurelines.net/turning-handle-for-windows-seitz-s4-s5-6086-p.asp
Robinhood
They are handed, see here: https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/ventilation/caravan-windows/window-stays-seitz/dometic-seitz-s4-sliding-windows-500mm-x-450mm-600mm-x-600mm/window-catch-seitz-right-hand They also stock the LH one. Unfortunately, these are Brown, not black, but that might be "brown" that looks like black - at least you know they are handed, though. Edited to add: The dark brown really is dark, and could almost be taken for black - they may do a black version as well, though.
trialsrider
Leisure lines just emailed me again and say the handed versions are only available with gas struts. Surely this can't be the case. The handle on its own is for the midline catch.
Robinhood
I've just noticed that it isn't the basic handle that is broken, it's the stay type. AFAIK, you'll need to buy the appropriate length stay (with handle incorporated) and again, unfortunately, these are commonly sold in pairs. (You may find the odd individual one). These are also "handed", and examples can be found in the same section of the Leisureshopdirect pages I referenced above. e.g. the 400mm one: https://www.leisureshopdirect.com/ventilation/caravan-windows/window-stays-seitz/seitz-window-stay-400 If you know what you're looking for, Google will pull up a few suppliers. Edit: given I crossed with above and the picture isn't quite appropriate ;-) - scrap that. The catches alone can be obtained "handed", as I said previously.
