Sensor sensitivity

Recommended Posts

Our parking sensors (ActivePark 4/14) are driving us mad with constant beeping!

The rear sensors pick up on the bike rack when it's lowered and any slight rise in ground level.

As far as I can see on the Web there is a sensitivity contro, and I can see the unit but will have to remove a few panels to access it. Before starting on this route and being unfamiliar with these things will reducing the sensitivity help?

Any suggestions most welcome.

These two links relate to the Meta System ActivePark 4/14

(I can’t find an English version of the 2nd (French language) link, but I guess that might not matter in your case.)

The system seems to have some sort of ‘programming’ capability to take account of things like a projecting tow-hitch, so it might be practicable to stop the system activating when your bike-rack is lowered.

As the system is designed primarily for cars, installing it on a motorhome can be more challenging. For instance, the French link advises that

"It is extremely important that the sensors are positioned on the bumper with a height from a maximum of about 65 cm to a minimum of 35 cm. It is important that the sensors are as vertical as possible to the ground.”

and meeting those criteria may be less easy to do with a large motorhome.
