Sites between Malaga and Gibraltar

May be of interest to you? In 2017 we stayed at Parque Tropical ACSI just east of Estepona on the A7. 36.454025, -5.080753, http://www.campingparquetropical.com/

We are 7.3 metres and had no problems.

It is a very well laid out and well run site, with friendly staff, but why it is there I have no idea? We did not like the Costa Del Sol at all, but had a very comfortable night here. We had come down from Olvera N of Ronda and were on our way to Cadiz.

My diary entry will give you the flavour of our thoughts!

"Then off to the site "Parque Tropical" a couple of miles further down the road. Nice little site - well run and landscaped with banana trees, ficus pumila (The fig tree in your lounge) bushes & palms - hence the tropical. However the physical location is crap! Right next to the main road - no restaurants/bars no obvious way to get to the beach?

We took the "walk" to the beach through waste ground, then the A7 - the only way to cross the road is by walking through a storm drain under the road, then through a private estate to the beach. Had a little walk up the beach - a mid grey sandy beach, which is backed by mile upon mile of apartment blocks - lots of English accents from retirees, but basically deserted at this time of year.

Looks like Costa del Sol not for us."

Take a look at Camping La Bella Vista near Manilva, about twelve miles from Gibraltar. It's owned by a Britsh company in the Lake District. It's overpriced but is in a good location.

Thanks Steve, good site, and we have stayed there before, but ruling it out, as you say, as being too expensive and no ACSI discount.
