Sky box in motorhome

Hello everyone, we always take our Sky digi box away in our motorhome. It is the Sky+ one. It is now getting pretty old and we are thinking we may have to replace with the updated Sky Q box, but we are concerned whether it will work as well in the motorhome. Does anyone use the new Sky Q box in their motorhome and if so, is it ok? Of course we only have one LNB on the van, but that’s no problem, we only watch one channel at a time! Your comments would be much appreciated. Regards Diane

We take our SkyQ box away with us ( we had a new LNB fitted , cost £100 fitted and the max view box updated , it now shows SkyQ on the satellite display ) . Can still record etc but catch up not available without WiFi , haven’t tried to pair with phone hotspot yet but can’t think why it wouldn’t . Got fire stick as back up .

Sky Q and Sky+ use different types of LNB.

We've had Sky Q since 2016, but we kept our Sky+ box and pair the viewing card with that when we're using the van.

When we changed boxes we were told by RoadPro that it wasn't possible to replace the twin LNB on our Mecatronic automatic system to a wideband version used by Sky Q. Perhaps that's changed four years later?

Our LNB was changed on a MaxView self seeker system .
