Guest Dianne
Hi all, Has anyone any advice, anecdotes or opinions about taking a motorhome to Slovenia. We are thinking about going over there for Easter. Dianne
Guest mike turner
we were there in september last year, mainly on the way back from Croatia. It's a lovely place - Ljubjyana (the capital) is super. Decent campsite on northern edge of City - easy bus 10 mins into centre, but you can bike it - all flat & priority lanes all the way - even over cars at most junctions - you only have to stop where the lights are red for bikes. The market is superb & restauarnts & bars alongside the river, but not sure what'll be open at easter. the mountains & lakes may still be in the ski season - check the weather Definitely go there! Guest Guido ON7CI (Flanders)
We spent over 2 weeks in Slovenia last year. We did not visit any cities, just country touring. Very beautiful, very industrious and nice people. Most speak English. Cost of living is high and wages are low. We always stood free for the night. Roads are mostly OK but still many dirt roads and watch the tree branches. Highly recommended. Guido ON7CI
Guest Peter Williams
Slovenia is lovely, We were there last year and the year before. The first time we stopped at Camping Bled, this site has direct access to the lake, and although a little touristy we still had a wonderful time. Last year,we travelled a little further down the valley from Bled to a place called Bohinje Bistrica, I think thats how it's spelled. It is not as touristy as Bled and well worth a visit. It has a lovely camp site right on the bank of the Soca river where you can fish for your supper. Bohinje lake is a little further on than the camp site, we cycled there in half an hour or so. We highly recommend Slovenia.
