Spare Wheel Carrier on the back of the Motor Home

Does anyone know if it is possible to get a carrier for the spare wheel which fixes on the back of the Van. Surely the wheel and tyre is not much heavier than a bike rack with a couple of bikes? Old age means that the under van cage is not an option. Many thanks

Well the weight of the LOAD (bikes) allowed on a cycle rack is quoted as 50kg (110lb approx) And from memory the rack itself is around 15 to 30kg depending on make and model So if you rsparew heel and carrier is equal to or less than 80kg (176lb) You should be able to carry it - providing that the rear wall of your MH has sufficient strength And you do not exceed the load on your rear wheels bearing in mind the momente of force around the rear axle

You could have 'Protex' or 'Tyresafe' in your tyres, then you don't need a spare unless something nasty happens, as punctures will mend immediately. Not cheap but nice to have. peace of mind is the best thing about it.
