Guest Roy Hamilton
I know Bill will probably say get a wastemaster and an aquaroll then you take them inside to the warm but here goes. Lunar Roadstar 720 2002. Both tanks are outside under the floor with the fresh water on top of the grey water. Has anyone tried to insulate these? Know of any kits or owt. Thanks. Guest Clive
Sounds like some thin marine ply, inch thick polystyrene boarding and some banding strip and use of a tool to fit it with! Finish off with Gaffer tape on the corners and sides then a coat or two of paint. Or am I a bodger? Guest Derek Uzzell
"Caravan Accessories (CAK) Ltd" (advert in MMM) market tank insulating wrap and tank de-frost heating elements. Installation of the heaters should be (relatively) strightforward, but wrapping up your vertically-stacked tanks sounds like a fun job! The difficulty with external tanks (particularly the fresh-water one) in very cold weather is adequately protecting the pipework rather than the actual tank contents. With a 3-Seasons design like your Lunar your initial comment makes good sense - keep the external tanks empty and rely on portable containers for fresh- and waste-water supplies.
