Spadge
Considering using a trailer for taking our Micra with us abroad, are there any difficulties getting a pitch on sites in France & Spain ? Thanking you in anticipation :-D
weldted
A point to note, European site pitches tend to be much smaller than the UK ok if you are staying a few days or more. Some Aires have room but not that many. If feasible it might be handy to have a Towbar on the car, then if space is tight you could use the car to park the trailer. In the last 20 years we have managed to park out 7.5 mtr van in most places and very rairly whisked we had a car. If we needed one for the odd day or two would hire one. Cheaper than cost of a trailer extra ferry and fuel costs. It's a matter of what suits for you.
Archiesgrandad
For those who may not have realised, most of the bigger supermarkets in France now offer car hire on a daily basis, and it costs about 9/10 euro per day. AGD
TheFrenchConnection
I have always been under the impression that trailers were not allowed on French Aires - although you do occasionally see them. À pair of electrically assisted bikes cope well enough for us, and car hire in off-peak Spain is very cheap.
