It can be written out. Failure will result in a fine. It is in several sections for where you are going. I.e. food or chemists. If you are going home you must carry one and state your are travelling sign and date it. We are in lock down only food shops chemists petrol stations etc, are open most others are closed. No cafes restaurants are open. Thanks for this, we may well need it when we travel back at the end of the Spanish lockdown period. The border is open it says for vehicles leaving Spain. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain Travelling through France is is still possible it says but you need to have a completed declaration in the cab. There are road blocks checking documentation so don't drive without it. "British nationals can still drive through France to return to the UK, but they will need to complete an ‘attestation’ (declaration) specifying the reason for being outside. We advise travellers seeking to use this route to check the latest FCO travel advice for France ahead of your journey. At present, air and maritime borders remain open, but many airlines and ferry companies are operating revised or reduced services." https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/france As usual don't sleep in motorway services - go for an off motorway aire (campsites are closed). Friends of ours were broken into just north of Clermont Ferrand on Sunday night. Thieves opened the centrally locked cab door and cut the security ratchet strap between the two doors! The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advises against all but essential travel to Spain. We advise British travellers who are currently in Spain and who wish to return to the UK to make travel plans to do so as soon as possible. If you are heading back to the UK in a motorhome, write on the form Je rentre au Royaume-Uni en camping-car. Spain declared a State of Emergency (“Estado de Alarma”) on 14 March, which introduces a series of measures including significant restrictions on movement throughout the country in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The Spanish government has now ordered that hotels and short-stay accommodation (such as short-stay campsites or caravan parks) must close by Tuesday 24 March. goldi Posted March 18, 2020 Share Posted March 18, 2020 Good afternoon, On Sunday just gone, in Spain,when the state of emergency was declared , armed police with jeeps went along the beach telling people to go back to their hotels . Beaches are now out of bounds. If you needed medication from the chemist (which were allowed to stay open) you had to take a taxi there and back. The penalty for being out side without a good reason is 5000 euro. With the conditions now imposed there is no good reason to want to go to Spain.
