TheFrenchConnection
The frost control valve on our Challenger seems to be malfunctioning. There is a steady drip from the drain tube which allows the pressure to fall and the pump then kicks in (about every 30 minutes). With pressure up there is an increase in the flow from the drain tube, which diminishes to the drip and starts the cycle over again. The valve apparently also acts as a pressure relief valve, and so appears to be releasing early. I have tried opening and resetting both the top control and the drain button to see if it would reseat with no success. À new valve isn't overly expensive but it will be a pain to access. Does any one have any suggestions please? (Our water is exceptionally hard and we have frequent problems with 'calcair' on our domestic equipment)
