Guest Derek Parnell
I have a Propex In my van. It suffers from voltage drop and fails to restart on the thermostat. I intend to run dedicated heavy cable to the heater, which is about 10 feet from the battery to cure this, plus a bigger battery. And then if nessesary a solar panel wired in at the heater terminals. Has anyone got a better idea? Thanks Derek. The fuel tank is sorted, bought dead van for £50 and removed the tank, 8 gallons of deisel in it! Plus it had power steering which I wanted to fit .!!! Van is Renault Master
Guest Tom
Your wiring proposal sounds OK for the heater. Don,t forget suitable fuses. The solar panel should be wired via a regulator and smaller fuse direct to the leisure battery. An ammeter to indicate "free" amps is a nice touch. I have a mate who worked for many years in a scrap yard. He ran a petrol Land Rover and hasn't bought any petrol for years!. Perks of the job.
