Steveb26 Posted March 12, 2020 Share Posted March 12, 2020 I have an odd problem. The water pressure is fine and sink and shower work. However the bathroom sink taps only work when shower is switched on. If shower turned off, then the sink stops even though taps still on. Have replaced switched but no different. Haven't had anything done regarding water supply etc. I did replace the micro switches but it did function properly for a while after that. Water comes out with good pressure from bathroom taps when shower on but stops as soon as it is turned off. Water also comes from shower but at a reduced rate. Functions at full strength again when taps turned off. Kitchen taps don't seem to affect it in any way. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
thebishbus Posted March 12, 2020 Share Posted March 12, 2020 Can you hear the pump running when the sink tap is turned on. ? IF not it could be the micro switch, but you say you have changed that. TeePee Posted March 12, 2020 Share Posted March 12, 2020 I agree with jumpstart,you probably have an airlock. When I fill up with water after the winter drain down I always switch off the water pump open all the taps, shower,handbasin and sink while filling with water, then when the water tank is full I switch on the pump let a bit of water pass through the taps. jumpstart Posted March 12, 2020 Share Posted March 12, 2020 This may sound stupid but is the basin running on hot or cold. It could be that the hot water heater isn’t yet full of water so cold will run fine but pump will run on hot but to start with no water will appear. Hope that sounds like sense.
