Can anyone recommend a good value reversing camera system. It gave trouble from purchase (second hand) and a new camera cost £700 so not good value when there seem to be numerous lower cost systems on the market. I decided that a better and more accurate system is a reversing sensor. Easy to fit and seems to be very accurate and under £20 so well worth considering. Clive_Adams Posted June 23, 2020 Share Posted June 23, 2020 Have a Vision Plus ranger twin lens with 7" colour monitor, find it totally adequate in most conditions apart from torrential rain and road spray, but think most will be the same in those type of conditions. The resolution could be a little better but big advantage is price, check out the range. A camera system is potentially much more versatile as ( if wished) it can be used when travelling forwards. Derek Uzzell Posted June 23, 2020 Share Posted June 23, 2020 The Vision Plus “Ranger” range of rear-view camera systems (mentioned by Clive Adams above) is advertised here https://www.visionplus.co.uk/shop/ranger-rear-view-systems/ The image provided by any camera mounted on the rear of a motorhome is likely to be obscured during wet weather conditions. Some (usually the more expensive) cameras have an internal heater that will help to dry off moisture on the lens. Some systems have a camera with a built-in microphone and a speaker in the monitor, allowing the driver in the cab to hear instructions (or desperate yells) from a person checking for obstructions behind the motorhome as it is being reversed.
