Window Help Required

Could any of the MMM readers help me please. Whilst on holiday last month my wife and I were caught in a very violent overnight storm, which blew, out one of our windows. If it wasn’t for a German gang of motor homers with lots of gaffer tape our holiday would have been ruined. Since arriving home I have e-mailed several companies advertised in the MMM, including the main dealers for my Make and model, and only had one, sorry we can’t help from a Colchester company, in reply. Our pride and joy is an old Concorde 620 (circa 1991) in good nick apart from a busted window. If anyone could supply me with names, phone numbers and or e-mail addresses of companies that specialise in window replacements it would be very appreciated. I am retired, live in Benfleet Essex and would be prepared to go anywhere in the UK mainland to get the work done or collect the window and fit it myself. Best regards to all MMM readers Peter

We have this week also experienced a window blowing out on our Herald Aragon (1995). Fortunately, a local repairer has been able to refit the window but it has a few cracks around the edges which he has sealed with clear sealer. At the Malvern Motocaravan show, from which we have just returned, one dealer from Twekesbury (he specialises in second-hand motorhomes sales and this should know) told me that there is a firm in Halifax by the name of E. ECO who make replacment windows. They can be contacted on 01274 679524 (Sue will answer the phone). It seems that they make replacement windows from their own moulds. Please let me me know how you get on as I may need to use them!

I emailed this company on Sunday evening about a small problem with a sliding window on our Autosleeper Executive that I had been trying to solve for 4 years. No company that I contacted was interested. Too small to bother with. By mid morning Monday I recieved an email to say that the small components were in the post with their compliments. This is the type of company that we should encourage. Ray.

I would just like to say thanks to the three MMM readers who put me in touch with EECO of Halifax. I read your postings on Saturday 13th and logged on to their web site that night, I filled in the on line order form and today the 15th I got an official quotation. How is that for service? I have still not had a reply from Five out of Six MMM advertisers including the Concorde main UK dealer. I can’t see the point of advertising if you don’t follow up leads, or do they think £300 per order is not enough to get out of bed for. If you are interested I will let you know when I get the new unit, I have been told 2-3 weeks from receipt of old window. Thanks again for your help. Best regards and safe camping. Peter

Glad to hear that you have had a good response from EECO. I shall be interested to have a message from you on the outcome and your comments on what they provide. Rees.
