Pete-B Posted June 4, 2016 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Hi, Quick question, what's the best way to hard wire my Transcend 220 dash cam in my 2015 fiat based Bessie? Transcend say you must continue to use the 12v plug supplied with it to maintain warranty, I guess the it must be fused there. Thanks for any help. Charles Posted June 5, 2016 Share Posted June 5, 2016 Look up 'blade fuse tap' on eBay. That's what I used to power mine up. It replaces one of the fuses and has 2 fuse slots in it, one for the original fuse and one for the new device. Makes a neat ish job, better than butchering new wires in. If you use this approach you’ll need to ensure that you obtain a ‘mini blade’ tap (as shown in the ebay advert link above) and that the secondary blade-fuse has an amperage appropriate to the dash-cam (these piggy-back fuse-taps are often supplied with a high amperage fuse).
