tringy
I was just wondering if anyone has changed there own pollen filter on a ducato x290? Is it easy to do yourself and where is it? I have noticed a reduced air flow to the cab vents and suspect that this is the problem. Kind regards Tringy.
Robinhood
https://www.fiatforum.com/ducato/461437-x290-pollen-filter-change.html If you have the "glove compartment" rather than the drinks holder, the first stage is somewhat different, but the principle is exactly the same. It is relatively easy, but restricted access in the space between the seats and the lower dash. (It is also easier than the video if you don't have the factory-fit radio with the USB ports attached). I've not tried and don't know how to do it, but here's a recent thread which refers to the pollen filter http://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/X290-2015-Three-Year-Service-What-needs-doing/49524/ . Try searching Youtube. There's probably something there
Derek Uzzell
I replaced the pollen-filter on my 2015 Ducato X290 earlier this year. The diagrams on the instruction leaflet for the filter I bought (not a Fiat-branded one) indicated that just a few screws would need undoing. In fact 11 fasteners needed to be undone to permit access to be gained to the filter, and then I had a helluva job refitting the plastic flap on the ‘slot’ through which the filter is inserted. For anyone planning to carry out a pollen-filter changre on recent-ish Ducatos with the central hinge-down storage compartment, the method is described here https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.ducatoschrauber.de/innenraumluftfilter-pollenfilter-wechseln-fiat-ducato-typ-250/&prev=search Pollen-filter replacement may be simpler for Ducato X290’s with the central cup-holder unit, but the position of the filter will be the same and the principles will be similar. Steve928
My two penn'orth. - I'd recommend being a bit more careful with the screws than in the first video. If they drop down behind the unit they may be lost forever. - the filter has an arrow marking the airflow direction so only fits one way around (airflow goes forward). Derek Uzzell
Steve928 - 2018-08-13 8:02 PM ...- the filter has an arrow marking the airflow direction so only fits one way around (airflow goes forward). As the pollen-filter is rectangular there are obvious restrictions on how it can be inserted. However (as you rightly say) the filter is designed to have airflow pass through it in a specific direction. Although this factor was stated in the instructions for the filter I bought, it was still less than obvious as to ‘which way up’ the filter should go. The arrow should point downwards when the fillter is slid into its housing (as shown in the final photo here) https://forums.motorhomefacts.com/149-fiat-ducato/118371-how-replace-x250-pollen-filter.html
tringy
Thanks all for the info and informative video on utube. I think it is fairly clear and not too difficult so I'll have a go my self. Thanks again. Regards Tringy.
