Guest Simon B
Yes!! Cambelts should be changed every 5 years regardless of mileage. If it breaks the cost of engine repair will be huge.
Guest AlfM
A word of warning take heed of the previous message. I was going to have the cam belt changed on my Peugeot 406 at an early milage because it was 6 years old and hadn't got to the 70,000 miles for changing. It went the week before it was due to go in for the work. Difference in price £160 for a cam belt change. £1300 to repair the damage caused when it broke. So I would definately have the belt changed now. It may go on another year or so (Peugeot now recommend changing at 7 years or the mileage whichever comes first), but I can prove they can go before the year point.
