I believe you own a Burstner Ixeo TL 680G that you bought new in 2018.

This Burstner model is described here

https://www.southdownsmotorhomecentre.co.uk/2018-burstner-ixeo-tl-680g-low-profile-motorhome.html

and it seems from the "More Information" section on the link that the 680G was marketed with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 3500Kg, 3850Kg or 4000Kg.

I'm not sure when you say "I upgraded to 3850kg" whether you chose the 3850kg option when you bought the motorhome, or the motorhome had a GVW of 3500kg when you bought it and you subsequently had the GVW increased to 3850kg (say using the services of SVTech).

I'm also not sure about the question-mark at the end of your 2nd sentence, as you referred to the 3850kg GVW in an earlier forum thread saying "I now have a good payload and can carry my moped and all our gear or the 2 electric bikes instead of the moped". Although the 680G model is relatively short, I suspect that its Mass In Running Order (MIRO) is quite high and if you are going to carry a moped and fill it with 'stuff' for a long trip abroad, the payload available at 3500kg GVW may be insufficient.

I wouldn't expect a motorhome dealer to middle-manage downrating the GVW of a motorhome on behalf of the owner. The procedure was discussed here in 2019

and although an owner SHOULD be able to DIY the process and deal with the DVLA direct, if you are going to do this I strongly advise you to involve a specialist like SVTech or Van Weight Engineereing

In 2013 we imported a new Hymer Exsis-i 578 from Germany via Bundesvan. Among various options I specified an MAM of 3,700kg, in lieu of the standard 3,500kg. So, I needed to maintain my C1 licence entitlements to drive it. By 2016 it was clear that the van did not exceed 3,500kg when loaded (although it was close) so, to not be affected by 3.5 tonne road limits, and eliminate paying for the medicals to maintain the C1 entitlement, I decided to down-plate the van back to its standard 3,500kg MAM.

To do this I approached Premier Motorhomes (Hymer dealership), who had carried out the odd minor warranty claim and the annual warranty damp checks, to see if they were willing to obtain a new Hymer VIN plate from Hymer. To obtain the letter from Hymer I had to supply a weighbridge certificate showing the van's weight unladen, to satisfy them that the remaining payload would be adequate. The cost for this service was in 2016, just under £300.

I then had to provide DVLA with a completed form V70 (application to change vehicle tax), plus a cheque for the additional VED due, the V5C registration document completed at section 7 (change of revenue weight), and a current, valid, MoT test certificate. To this I added a confirmation of VED paid for the current year, plus a letter from Hymer confirming that the vehicle could be used at the new MAM without further modification, plus a photocopy of the new Hymer VIN plate at 3,500 KG. This was acceptable to DVLA in lieu of a design weight certificate.

I don't remember how long the whole process took, but it will have been several weeks. The reason for taking this route was to obtain a replacement Hymer VIN plate (actually as transfer) that exactly replicated the original except for the revised 3,500kg MAM. So, to a future buyer, that van, and its record with Hymer, did not show any weight changes.
