John Allen
For testing of damp in wood (such as motor home wall board and wall structures) the industry standard used by a lot of surveyors is the Protimeter mini.(approx £170) This is an invasive type testing i.e. has sharp metal prongs that are pressed in to the surface of the material being tested. There are numerous cheap equivalents available but I don't know how they would compare. For more sophisticated testing there are non invasive types that can read through impervious structures such as tiles and plastic linings. I doubt if any motor home service dealers use this type as they are very expensive (excess of £300) and probably not necessary for motor home type structures. EJB
I have a £9.99 meter, with probes, that tests each year to be as accurate as a pro meter that my service engineer uses! You pays your money and makes your choice (lol)
