Has your friend checked inside the water tank? It's fairly common for Continental European motorhomes to have a simple 'screw-in' drain plug in the floor of the water tank, with the plug accessed via a large inspection/cleaning cover in the tank's upper surface. Easiest way to confirm this (assuming the tank's currently got water in it) would be to run the water pump until enough of the water has been removed for the floor of the tank to become visible. Even if there turns out to be no floor-mounted drain plug, this strategy should permit the drain outlet (that's if there is one of course!!) to be detected. Hymer(UK) (advert in MMM) would be the obvious first port of call to try to locate the ladder part. Hambleton Engineering (Tel: 01772 315078) would be another possibility and, as they tend to specialise in older Hymers, might also be able to advise should the tank-drain continues to prove elusive.

Derek is right the drain for the freah water tank in the Hymer is a conentional sink plug in the bottom of the tank accessed from the top of the tank through the cleaning/pipe cover. The bottom of the ladder to the roof is the ladder used to access the the drop down bed. Only one exception to what Derek says Pete Hambilton does not specailise in older Hymers; he deals with Hymers of all ages. good luck. Docted

on my B544 drain plug is directly under water pump in tank so you must unscrew pump and lift clear to access
