The aires which provide electric hook ups mostly limit the current to 2 or 3 amps, so not remotely enough to power a microwave or a hair dryer in real time.

 

They might however allow you to use a low power device like a Remoska cooker, so it could still be possible to cook your jacket potatoes etc using one of those.

 

As mentioned above, to use a microwave off battery power you need a very big inverter (with heavy cabling to the batteries) and lots of battery capacity - and then of course you need the means to recharge afterwards.

 

We fitted a microwave for use on campsites where the EHU was up to the job but used it very little and eventually took it out in favour of recovering the locker space. It was in an overhead locker and that was a hazardous place to be lifting hot food down from too, so overall a bad idea for us.
