HymerVan
A good layer of wax makes them easy/easier to wash off. You can't do much about places live the radiator grille etc, though apart from keeping your speed down.
Tracker
Flash Liquid, or similar detergent, shifts them as well as anything and I also use it as an additive to screenwash because it cuts through road grease and slime. Purists might say not to use Flash because it contains salt or other nasties but it has never caused me an issue in over 30 years use and the Lidl's version is cheap!. Driving slower collects less insects but in Scotland the rain will probably help keep them soft enough to remove more easily! Of far greater use up there is a decent midge repellent. gdf
No help but think positive! Every one on the front of the van wasn't able to bite you!! :-D
breakaleg
I seen someone arrive on site once and peel cling film off the front of the van and all the flies with it (bit like leg waxing) and No, not over the windscreen. Pete
Conrad
Rejoice that there are insects - they are mostly declining in numbers. Without them, our plants don't get pollinated, birds and bats don't can't feed.
Den
I tried the cling film. Less said the better. I think I didn’t take enough time making a decent job. I now use a little Autoglym traffic film remover followed by wash and wax. Effortless. Dissolves insects easily
Hans
Use blue ultra violet lamps. Very effective also in the kitchen.
fjmike
A coat ( or2) of a quality wax will help make it easier to remove insects. I wouldn't recommend using strong detergents unless thoroughly rinsed and waxed afterwards
