Belts are only deisigned for use in forward facing seats, so if you are in a collision wearing a belt sideways serious injury could occur. There is a previous post re:- seat belts. Guest Ruth Posted April 25, 2005 Share Posted April 25, 2005 see previous posts but basically you are not illegal merely unwise to take passengers in any rear seats where belts are not fitted.
