Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Stuart.

In order to remove the sump’s drain-plug on-line comments suggest that a 12mm Allen key would be needed - or a 12mm hexagon drain-plug key of the type shown here

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-38326-Hexagon-drain-plug/dp/B0001K9U2S

You may find that the drain-plug is very tight, so be extremely careful a ) to use the correct size of tool and b) to not strip the thread in the sump’s drain-outlet.

Stuart,

The tool suggested by Derek is identical to that which I use. It is not prominent on the Amazon website that the Draper 38326 is 3/8" square drive. If using the key with a 1/2" socket wrench, you would also need an adaptor.

You may also need a strap wrench or other tool for removing the oil filter.

A usefull trick when determining the size of similar fixings, is to make a rubbing on paper or thin card, and then retire to a more comfortable location to measure the rubbing. I did this recently for the brake caliper bolts.
