Campsite Review-Camping Chateau de L’Eperviere

We have used this site several times as an overnight stop en route to the South of France or back home and our latest visit was in early June in 2009. After a gap of about 11 years we have certainly noticed the many positive improvements to the site. The campsite is situated in the grounds of a rather nice Chateau which over the years has gradually been restored to its former glory. Parts of the Chateau are used for various campsite functions but most are contained in the outbuildings. The is a shop, selling some useful basic items plus a very nice selection of local wines, has, along with the bar have been relocated to a rather nice courtyard. The site has a really nice restaurant. There are two toilet blocks, one next to the pool near the Chateau and another new block further into the site. They are both kept spotlessly clean. Just outside the toilet block is a swimming pool complex. There are two pitching areas, one close to the Chateau and the main part further away across a short causeway over a lake. Whilst most pitches are on grass there are quite a few on gravel hardstanding. They are all of a generous size. Electric and water points are conveniently placed around the site. Internet access is available at the bar either by fixed computers or WiFi but this is limited to the area around the bar and does not extend campsite wide. Prices are reasonable at €3 for 2 hours. This campsite accepts Camping Cheques. For anyone arriving at the campsite after reception closes there is a large parking area at the entrance.
