Knaus
Hi What is the width of the road into the campsite. The book says not to arrive before 1pm because it is narrow. Has anyone ever had a problem entering before 1pm?
Porkbrain
Stayed there a couple of years ago, if I recall correctly the initial entrance road to the site from the main road is effectively 'single track', so the bit about don't arrive before 1pm is to allow anyone leaving that day to exit first before new arrivals. Ris
Nice site close to town and Gorges, easy walking to. Narrow entrance but no problem just arrive as asked after 1 pm.
Klyne
The final approach to the site is a single cariage way road with no passing place, although the total length of this road is only a hundred metres. The arrival time is there to stop unit blocking the road. Personally I would not arrive earlier that 1.00pm without discussing it with the warden but even then I think you will get a stock answer. Having said that its a very nice site with easy access to Chedder and the Gorge by foot. terryW
Make sure you get the walking directions to the town, don't go back out to the road. Had a very warm welcome last year.
