Hi Steve

Welcome to the forum

I am always on the look-out for putting my Kayak on the water
Couple of popular sites are the Camping Club site at Keswick and the caravan clubs site at Coniston.

The Keswick site is right on Derwenidioter, the Coniston site very close to the Lake.

I also put my Kayak into the Floating Harbour at the Caravan Clubs Baltic Wharf site Bristol .Next door to the site is a sailing club so there will plenty of other dinghies about.

Possibly it might be useful for you redo this question and stick it on the main motorhome forum, many of the regulars don't get down this far on the site
All the best

No Howard it's not your finger trouble but this over protective forum.

It will not let you type DERWENT WATER as one word because it replaces the letters of the offending word that results with the alternative IDIOT.

Keith.
