mikethebike Posted December 15, 2008 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Hi all Has anyone stayed at camping de la plage near grand-fort-phillipe we need a 2 night stopover for our dogs vet visit on return from germany early next july. We stayed at la chaumiere last time but my wife didn,t take to Guy the owner and he refused to open the barrier before 8am resulting in us missing our train crossing.Also if you can recommend a vet in the vicinity I would be grateful. Klyne Posted December 15, 2008 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Mike I have seen reports of people staying at Des Dunes http://www.camping-des-dunes.com/ in the same area although it does get very mixed reviews. It used to be in the ACSI Book but its not for 2009 and I notice the website is not functioning correctly so I don't know if there is a problem. mikethebike Posted December 17, 2008 Author Share Posted December 17, 2008 Thanks for that David I did see the Dunes sight whilst looking around but I think its mainly statics Although we have my sister in their double axle caravan travelling with us we prefer the small quieter sites but getting reliable information seems to be difficult.The de la plage site looked a reasonable alternative and their website is quite informative.
