colin
It's been 15years since we went to Orkney so things have proboly moved on, I recall there was only one site with full facilaties, this was at Stromness, highlight of day was when the ferry came in. The main thing I remember was site was right on water's edge so I could launch windsurfer from site.
bigmoney2
we to our planning on Orkney this year. Have you seen this site? www.visitorkney.com There seem to be 2 campsites on the 'mainland' part of Orkney, one at Stromness and one at Kirkwall. http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5532 Also some info from others who have been http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/chatter/search.asp?search=orkney&searchMode=allwords&searchIn=Topic&forum=4&searchSort=dateDESC&Submit=Start+Searchhere Having previously done the outer hebrides and wild camped (no campsites on some of the islands) will do so again on Orkney if we can't get on a site. We are planning to go end of May beginning of June so may see you there. Jules
