Southern Brittany Campsite info required.

Hi all

Last year we drove from Dunkirk and covered the north and north/west coast of Brittany. This time (August) we are going from Calais and plan to stop at Honfleur for a couple of days just to chill with the kids before heading towards southern Brittany, probably on the coast around the Quimper area but not sure yet.

Also, when travelling from Calais (arrive 10.30am) we plan to travel 3 to 4 hours max before stopping and putting down tentative roots for a couple of days, would you consider Honfleur to be an exeptable stopping place en route to southern Brittany or would a more direct southern route be better?

Basicly we are just after somewhere nice to stay for a few days (Aire or small village) that is 3 or 4 hours outside Calais, en route for Southern Brittany

We don't normally use campsites but I was wondering if any one had used any campsites in southern Brittany area that they would recommend as we plan to have two/three days at a site, preferably with a pool before moving on to various small villages/Ayres.

I know some of this info would have been covered before but couldn't find anything related to southern brittany.

Any help much appreciated.

Just wanted to add, having conversed with the wife, we are now topping up with booze in Calais, stopping off at Houlgate not honfleur (got it wrong ) for a couple of days and then hopefully booking a campsite with pool somewhere near Quimper for 2 or 3 days after that. followed by a meandering tour of Brittany.

So,--------- anyone know of a good campsite near quimper complete with pool and all facilities?

Thanks in advance for the help

Hi Kevandali,

L'Orangerie de Lanniron is a nice site. It's on the banks of the river Odet and about 2 kms from Quimper. It's part of the Castels group www.les-castels.com or www.lanniron.com.

We walked to Quimper andit seemed like a long way but we found a better way back through the rear of the site.

John.
