Switzerland

We're intending visiting Switzerland in June next year and wonder if we will need to book sites in advance. We have no itinerary as yet but certainly want to visit Interlaken and the Jungfrau. We're also interested in old castles and picturesque towns and villages.

Any suggestions for sites and visits welcomed.

We went to Switzerland for the first time last June, it was fabulous! Well recommended. Got a lot of help from Ron Barnes via this forum, not sure if he still posts on here. We actually met up with him and his wife on the site in Interlaken, Lazy Rancho.

We didn't book anywhere, which was perhaps a bit dodgy in view of the fact that the football was on at the time, but we were very lucky in getting a pitch on campsite Lazy Rancho, and we ended up staying for 10 nights. A great site, pitches not as big as over here, and you are allocated a pitch, although perhaps if you book beforehand, you are able to book a particular pitch.

Got a 6-day pass on the railways, it is for 6 CONSECUTIVE days, so you need to check weather forecast to ensure that it is going to be at least clear. We were very fortunate in that there was a heatwave while we were there, and one day we went right up to the Jungfraujoch, highlight of the trip.

If you do a search on this forum, it should bring up some threads on Switzerland.
