Guest starspirit Posted September 10, 2007 Share Posted September 10, 2007 In the village of Guyhirn just of the A47 on the way to Wisbech from Peterborough and on the B1187 (Gull Road) towards Murrow is this fledgling site run by the very friendly Fryett family. It is set amongst orchards and has private lake fishing just up the road that is available only to site guests. There are no facilities other than a tap, bins, limited hook ups and a clean new CDP but plans are afoot to build toilet and shower blocks in the near future. There are two fields one of which is large enough for medium size rallies and the site is very quiet and sheltered being away from the road and having tall poplar trees all round. There is also a quality produce farm shop on site. Although the site is only at the 'CS' type stage this year the overnight cost is just a fiver and well worth it for those amongst us who like peace and quiet, peace of mind and basic facilities where well behaved dogs are welcome even off the lead. The grass is kept cut and the ground is very firm even in the wet and the site is open all year. The Fryett family are always happy to discuss terms for rallies and longer stays and can be reached on 01945 450952 - or just turn up for a guaranteed warm welcome. I have no connection with the family other than as a satisfied guest and this is a new venture for them and in my humble view they deserve to succeed.
