PJay
We are planning on going to Scotland next week, We would like to visit the Orkneys while there, as will be close to Scrabster, where the ferries run from. Does anyone know of any camp sites there? Any one been there who may have ant tips. Would it be a good idea to stock up on supplies? Only probably be there a couple of days. Also any recomended sites in Scotland? we belong to CC and have the book, but any others? P Jay
colin
It's been many years since we where on Orkney, we where tenting at time and stayed at Stromness, can't remember a thing about facilities and they have proboly changed now, but it was on headland at entrance to Stromness harbour, so good views across to Hoy and bit of interest in watching ferry and yatchs coming and going, and the best part for me was direct access to water to go windsurfing
PJay
Thanks Colin for your reply,Looks like not many people go there, by replies! We are of to-day, not sure about going now, as the ferry cost is high , especialy just for a couple of days sightseeing, will probably stick to the mainland P
