Craftsman
Hi Looking to make our first trip abroad in our new van next July. Fancy Provence after reading about the Stothert's adventure in MMM. So can anyone suggest places to stay/ visit in the area. Think we will be using sites rather than aires on a first trip and will probably cross the Channel via the tunnel and travel down. Any ideas or info would be appreciated!
Groats
Hi, I know I'm 2 months late but - we stay at Le Moulin, near Gassin and it is one of the cheapest in the area. It is a peaceful, rural site beside vineyards and has plenty of shade and a v. good swimming pool. It is also a bit unkempt but has a few regulars who don't mind this. There is a metalled cycle path into La Croix Valmer which also has free bus services to local beaches. La C-V has all the food and other supplies that you would need. There is wi-fi at the site and in La C-V. More cycle paths in the area, we even cycled to St Tropez. Have also stayed at the 12 euro ACSI site in Castellane in N. Provence at one end of the Gorge du Verdon which is spectacular and you can drive it's length. Have a great time. Groats
Craftsman
Thanks for your reply, 2 months late but its only December so plenty of time left. The site sounds ideal and cycling into St Tropez very appealing. Thanks again.
