CliveH
Never done it (being a caravanner) but I regularly see MH's parked with the Lorries in the truck section and assumed that this was the place you stayed if you needed an overnight stop. But this is only my assumption - not fact.
colin
We often travel friday nights and park at motorway services, sometimes the MH's and Caravans seem to outnumber the trucks, not exactly the most luxerius start to a holiday, but when traveling to cornwall only leaves a short hop next morning, the alternative for us would be the truck stops, but we have not had a long range MH holiday since getting 'franks' book. Tomo3090
If you are in one of the clubs why not use the cl/cs sites along the way. Some are quite close to motorways etc and are cheaper than the services, (and quieter!)
fred22
Try and keep away from the refrigerated lorries, it's like having a huge generator parked next to you. We couldn't sleep and had to move. Check to see if the services will give you a discount on your breakfast on production of your parking receipt. It's worth a try.
ike
Agree with Tomo3090 a CS/CL would be much better. Service areas tend to be very noisy and they are becoming quite expensive. We recently stopped at Allanwater near Johnstonbridge and an overnight has gone up to £12 ( £17 to include a £7.50 meal voucher) but that wouldn't buy you a meal. From memory Gretna services wanted £19 last year! Happy travelling, Irene
