travellady
Can someone please explain to me when you pay for pitch on a campsite, you are asked to pay extra for an awning?how can they justify this charge it fits on the pitch attached to the motorhome we have just paid for !!!! If anyone is thinking of going to Broadmeadow site in Ross on Wye, here you are even asked if you are going to roll out the canopy yes chargable even that? Does anyone know what is classed as a double awning?
LordThornber
I can explain it. It's called commercialism. It's a privately owned site and they can charge whatever they want for whatever they want. Simple stuff really. However, there is a way to beat them. Vote with your feet and don't use their site. Martyn
nowtelse2do
Have to agree with Martyn, Its happening more & more, I'm going to vote with my feet in future >:-) Dave Oh and welcome to the forum travellady :-D
terryW
For the same reason together with their restrictive booking system we showed the CCC a clean pair of heels this year.
Guest Tracker
Maybe if more sites charged more for awnings there would be less of 'em and not only more space for other units but less yellow patches on the grass spoiling the outlook for anyone else. Disclaimer - the poster may or may not agree with the above statement - but awning damage is a fact of life with site ownership?
LordThornber
What did it for me, (voting with feet) was the dramatic increases at 2 CL's we use. One we are not using again after a 50% increase, the other we will still use but to a lesser degree. Martyn
