Canvas Tension!

I have witnessed and dealt with several owners of awning damages because of the recent excessive heavy rain falls. Some have been caught out when having left their equipment for a day out, only returning to a collapsed awning through water weight on the roof.

When erecting, it is important that the canvas is pulled/stretched as tight as possible and pegged down with expanding straps.

It is equally important not to put too much excessive tension on storm straps. These are only used to avoid any LIFT from winds and do not assist with wind down forces or when rain weighs on the roof. Excess tension will only ADD stress down on both the poles and and corner struts.
