garyflanary
Hello guys, I moved from New York to UK last winter. I like camping and want to continue this great tradition in your country. I plan to visit a lot of beautiful places. I have some basic equipment and the tent. But I worry to use my propane lantern in the tent. What types of lantern do you use in the tent? thanks
garyflanary
Bump, There is a plenty of lanterns. I can not choose a good one. I want to try the Led lantern. I found one model https://www.mrosupply.com/lighting/emergency-lighting/flashlights/1750330_5959_nebo/ What does number of lumens mean? In this model, there are 157 lumens. Will the light be bright or not?
Johnoutdoorsy
More lumens means it's a brighter light; fewer lumens means it's a dimmer light. And FYI a 3W compact fluorescent lamp emits about 150 - 200 lm. As for me, I think the lumen is not a big issue but the duration of lighting should never be ignored. I grabbed a suaoki 2-in-1 rechargeable lanterns & flashlight several months ago from amazon. It's quite useful when I go camping since it runs more than 8 hrs after fully charged, so when I need it, it never fails. It's small, lightweight and very convenient to use. Here's some pics of my lantern (took when I was on a camp tour): http://imgur.com/HOYuDAZ & http://imgur.com/WvbkOvn
