New to Camping - What cooker?

My daughter and her family have recently bought a fair sized tent as they want "outdoor" holidays next year without paying hotel prices. Can anyone recommend a two burner / grill gas cooker. It can have a stand or not as I have a folding table they can use.

When we statrted camping 19 years ago we bought a Campingaz double burner and grill and it has been superb. We used it many times each year until 2002 when we bought a camper van. In 2008 we had to return briefly to it after the cooker in our van broke. Again, the 'old' unit was fine.

 

The current equivalent model is the CampingazCamping Chef stove and grill - £49.99 at Go Outdoors. I believe that Argos and many camping stores sell them.

My advice would be to buy secondhand ones, you can pick them up cheaply from car boot sales, or even from the local classified ads in the paper, along with all the other stuff she'll need. Buying everything 'new' will cost her a packet and if she then decides she doesn't like it she'll be well out of pocket.

 

Also try online sites such as Gumtree, Pre-loved, Loot etc.

Many thanks for your replies. What a big difference in prices for the camping gaz stove from either, towsure, decathlon and go outdoors. Oh well thats life.
