What pets do you take with you when tent camping? Any experiences you can share with us?

we have taken our golden retriever camping a few times. (shes now 8)
the problem we have now is that, when we go without her she sulks (that's after her trying to get into the car)
she loves the times we take her generaly near the south downs as there's lots of walks there.
we do take a retractable lead that attaches to the ground stick so she can have a bit of freedom but restricted.
at night tho she does sleep on a bed roll in the bed room with us

hope this helps
