| Hi
I am getting a new vechical at the end of April so I am wanting a tow bar and electrics,I have been it contact with my local fitter which I have used for the past three vechicals. but I noticed on an ebay shop a 13 pin socket to a 2 x 7pin socket, which seems to just plug into the 13 pin socket on the vechical then just plug in the two 7 pin sockets from the caravan. But my fitter said that he had not seen them before but will look in to it.So I was wondering if any one has seen or even got one and how good are they.
Kind Regards

| Used one when I had a loan tow vehicle to evaluate that was 13 pin and the van was 2 x7pin.
It did the job but would not be something I would live with on a permanent basis as it doubles up the pin contacts let alone the wire to pin contacts so overall invites electrical continuity issues.
If the van was to be sold on in a couple of months I would probably live with it but anything longer or permanent I would adopt 13pin as it is a better technical solution.

| My caravan already has a 13 pin socket and the other day I had my car converted from 2 X 7 pin sockets to a 13 pin one. For the past two years I have been using an adaptor and towards the end of last year it started to play up a bit, particularly the fridge so that prompted the change. Took the van for a short tow today and it seemed to be fine.

Hi, Yes these are very common to use when the wiring in the car is a Dedicated Wiring Kit, perfect for towing, caravans can be changed from 2x7 PIN plugs to 1x13PIN but requires specialist electricians to understand and know the wiring setup.
Most cars are fitted with 13PIN for reasons of not having the 13-7PIN adaptor trailing behind the car while traveling.
If you have any questions regarding getting it sorted please feel free to contact us.
