Jaguar Land Rover is cutting 5,000 jobs from it's workforce after a collapse in it's biggest market China......and growing Brexit uncertainty.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-46810473

Despite that, idiots like this lunatic fortunate enough to have a job practically beg to be kicked out.

The article states he's been suspended but imo he should have been escorted off the premises and told not to bother coming back.

How are Brexit voters to blame for a drop in Chinese sales and a slump in diesel motors and the loss of 5000 jobs ??? Not quite as bad as Barry blaming Brexiteers for murder but still pathetic ... How very , very sad ... Up all night looking for doom and gloom

How many jobs were lost from joining the EU from the coal and steel industries etc, and all their supply chains or don't they count.
About 10 years ago about 500 jobs from our firm were lost as they decided to move to Poland as they could transport more cheaply from there, but the product quality dropped and times change, and now they've contacted us again with cap in hand as they want to restart again in the UK...… big surprise as no one is interested in taking their offer up.

The Indian owners of JLR are just using Brexit as an excuse to move production to Slovakia .........

Which proves that we shouldn't be pandering to foreign owned industries .........

Besides Brexit will soon be over and you Remoaner sado's will be able to blame the forthcoming recession on Brexit ........

Ford are also cutting back and paying off.

They are not blaming Brexit and are paying off more workers in Europe than in the UK.

I wonder if JLR are cutting back at their car plant in China?

You forgot to include, "concerns about UK competitiveness post-Brexit" and "the company has been saying for more than a year that Brexit uncertainty would eventually take its toll on the perception of the UK as a stable and competitive base for global manufacturing."

It's the bit in the article you ignored as it's not pro-Brexit news. The damage of Brexit is a contributing factor.

Meantime, back on planet earth Brexit is shown to be a contributing factor. It's useless denying it as both CEO's of JLR and Ford have stated categorically, so you need to start taking responsibility your actions have caused in putting thousands of people out of work. Honda will be shutting down their plant for six days "in anticipation of delays at the border caused by Brexit which would disrupt it's supply chain", and Toyota have no contingency plan at all.

So; have you got a list of Brits who are queueing up to buy all of the foreign owned businesses ?
What party do they support, do they expect to be subsidised by the Tories, Labour, Lib-Dem, the Greens ?
I’m sure there would be lots of support at the next election, all those people who agree with you, that the company that pays their salaries, funds their mortgage, pays the taxes that pay for NHS and everything else, are not welcome!
Wow ! You really are living in a world of your own!
I suppose you agree that us ordinary folk just need to know that post-Brexit we’ll be able to afford loads more cheap shoes!
Thanks Pelmet, thanksSmoggy.

If I were you I’ d take my chances in Spain, and maybe your mates will join you?

Why won't you listen to what JLR's CEO said instead of making silly remarks all the time? The Slovakia factory is building the new Defender, not it's entire range and besides, this is precisely what you voted for. Why else has pro-Brexiter Dyson chose to build his electric car in Singapore and not UK? Oh yeah...because you've thrown away fta's which Singapore signed up to with the EU prompting Dyson to commit with Singapore.

When are you Leave voters going to man up and start taking responsibility for the horrendous damage your insane Brexit is continuing to cause to this country, throwing thousands of people out of work? Stop trying to shift blame away from Brexit as it makes you look like you have no faith in your dystopian dream.

Dam your Dumb Bullet ..........

That's how all the international car makers and the EU work........The EU lets governments in accession countries bribe them to set up factories...........

It's exactly what Ford did in Southampton when they moved production of Transits to Turkey.......They even used UK contributions to the ECB to pay the bung FFS! .........

The EU has been instrumental in taking jobs from the UK and moving them to cheaper economies ........

Its all part of their ethos of fairness .......

Which translate to British workers losing their jobs ........

Why don't you listen to what a LABOUR MP for Birmingham said instead of spouting total B*llocks all the time ..........

"Roger Godsiff, Labour MP for Birmingham Hall Green, said: “It seems quite clear to me that the owners of Jaguar Land Rover, Tata Motors Limited India, are seeking to transfer a large part of their operations, possibly as a precursor to transferring all their operations, to a low-wage part of the EU."

My my.....poor old Mr Angry. You spent over an hour trawling the Brexpress for anything to avoid acknowledging the fact Brexit has been a contributing factor in JLR's decision. Despite both CEO's stating such you still continue to ignore them.

The decision to build the Defender in Slovakia makes sense. As an EU country it retains fta's and frictionless movement, essential to vehicle manufacturing. But you voted to do away with that.....you did know what you were voting for didn't you? You keep telling us you did. Why else is Dyson building his electric car in Singapore and not UK (you avoided answering that embarrassingly awkward question)? Purely because it signed fta's giving Dyson access to the EU market.

You whine that EU has "taken our jobs", yet Ford build in Mexico, Brazil and Turkey. Haven''t heard you whining about them.

EU has nothing to do with those countries so your point is ridiculous. Ford build in Germany....hardly known for it's "cheap labour". You come out with a load of absolute guff trying to find a way to blame EU but always end up shooting yourself in the foot. If you felt so strongly about "pandering to big business" you'd get rid of that Ford van you 'live' in along with everything else which doesn't have a "Made in Britain" mark on, but you're a hypocrite.

Not for long ..........

Germany: Ford announces massive job cuts at its Saarlouis plant

"At the same time, Ford is investing 200 million euros in Craiova, Romania, for the production of another model. The number of Ford workers in Romania is to be increased by 1,500 to 6,000. The Romanian Ford employees work under slave-like conditions with some workers earning as little as 300 euros per month. At the beginning of 2018, 4,000 workers in Craiova took strike action to prevent the imposition of a new, extortionate contract."

Some more bedtime reading for you Bullet .........

The Romanian Government is offering a full package of incentives and grants
for projects advanced by companies interested to invest and create new jobs
in Romania. Investors will find here a proper climate for production
sprinkled with exemptions of taxes, investments that can be deducted
up to 50% and a number of financing tools and fiscal incentives.

Lately the tax system has been reformed for a better investment
environment, for a more efficient and transparent way of collecting and
spending taxes by the Government. Recent VAT reduction boosted retail
sales.

Romania has become in the last couple of years an investment
opportunity like no other in CEE. The state aid schemes for investments
and the tax reform are aiming for a better platform for those who want to make
solid business.

"Romania has become in the last couple of years an investment

Say's it all really ...........

EU has nothing to do with those countries so your point is ridiculous. Ford build in Germany....hardly known for it's "cheap labour".

Who's the hypocrite now eh Bullet? ..........

You are.....and a massive one. That desperate now you turn to a Trotskyist influenced website, the politics of which you regularly vilify and condemn. That makes you one major HYPOCRITE.

Do you ever read any links you post? Silly question as we all know you look for a 'juicy' header and think that will do, but never read through.

Gunnar Herrmann, the CEO of Ford Germany, who was also present in Saarlouis, spoke at the Cologne headquarters in a general fashion about “inevitable adjustment measures” resulting from the “strict austerity measures” laid down by the company’s headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan. “The US group will finish deep in the red in Europe in 2018,” a statement read. It also goes on to mention Brexit as a contributing factor but you wouldn't liked to have read that.

So your saying Labour MP's are talking inane drivel? ...........

Ford are also cutting back and paying off.

They are not blaming Brexit and are paying off more workers in Europe than in the UK.

I wonder if JLR are cutting back at their car plant in China?

JLR are reported to have closed their Chinese plant for at least 1 month..

It'll be Brexits fault according to Bullet .........

No, i listen to what the CEO's of the companies they run say. You refuse to because they stated Brexit has been a contributory factor which is undeniable.

As you're so keen on selectively quoting pro-Brexit Roger Godsiff MP i take it you also support his backing for a second referendum too?

They've already cut 5,000 jobs in UK so just need another 2,300 on top of your figure before i'll celebrate. I do find it ironic though that you're now suddenly cheerleading a company only a few months ago you were making derogatory comments about for daring to build in the EU. Your hypocrisy is boundless.

I hope their electric cars are built to a better standard than their previous rubbish. The only looks they have topped is for most faults and best depreciation. I would never buy any vehicle with 'Rover' on it and the electric ones will be the same.

I wouldn't have thought badge snobbery to be on your list of priorities. I've had two Rovers, a 1.6 and 2.0. The 1.6 gave very 'torquey' brilliant performance and excellent mpg......but it was a Honda K series engine. The 2.0 was a disaster with permanent oil leak, poor performance and mpg along with a rubbish heater that took half an hour to demist a windscreen. It wasn't Honda built engine.

That's what I mean by rubbish. Even the much vaunted Land Rover has big shortcomings when you load it up and give it some real work to do. They cannot compete with a Nissan or Toyota 4 x 4. I have driven all 3 in the Middle East and Africa, the Land Rover Defenders failed in all areas compared to the Japs.

Some of the haters even post about their green concerns ... So today we have great news about new green jobs and they have nothing positive to say ... The haters on here really , really do hate ... its good news. I bet The Tories have given them a bung though. They must be crackers producing that here. Why? If they want to flog it into Europe or anywhere else for that matter it will face tariffs.

They will also need JIT continuous flow of parts so if that doesn't happen from day one, JLR will be off. Charging infrastructure is also another issue for British.....there are only 18,000 points in the entire country. Netherlands has 37,000 so UK gov needs to pull it's finger out as the automotive industry is way ahead of them. The other issue is battery production and JLR want large plants to produce low cost.

I bet it comes out there has been a bung. Even the Brexiteers own economists reckon Automotive is done because of Brexit. Dont get me wrong, Im pleased but it dont make much sense to me for all the above reasons.

I bet there will be someone along shortly saying something about "just believing" or "having faith" etc.

It gave Pelmet a major orgasm when he found this little snippet about a company which only a few months ago he'd been sniping about for doing business in the EU. Now he's their chief cheerleader! Wonder if he's noticed yet their CEO is German?

Still nothing positive from the boss hater ... Always so quick to condemn and care about those who've lost jobs n'all ... Bedroom hate syndrome is difficult to treat

Jaguar is a Iconic British brand ..........

Wow.......the multi coloured turncoat chameleon strikes again!! Now suddenly it's "iconic"!!

A reminder of previous Pelmet rants against JLR on this thread alone!!

"The Indian owners of JLR are just using Brexit as an excuse to move production to Slovakia"

".....pandering to foreign owned industries"

".....they got the £108 million bung from the Slovakian government

"EU has been instrumental in taking jobs from the UK"

"They go where ever they'll the cheapest labor..."

The claim of EU "taking jobs from UK" is as hilarious as a post i once read on another forum where the thread starter was whining about EU workers "stealing" our jobs.

Another poster responded, "well they've been doing a cracking job of 'stealing' work from my nephew as the bone idle bastard has never done a days work in his life since leaving school 20 years ago and doesn't intend to work...".
