  1. Hi guys, Sorry for not clarifying the damp issue. We had a bad leak at the rear coming from a badly repaired 'sprung' trim on the roof edge above the 'boot' door and also a leak on the seal on the same door, basically I had to dismantle the door and frame then rip off the plywood and polystyrene and replace it all after taking off all the edging trim and resealing/screwing it down again. I got the new bits from O'learys in Hull, he was most helpful. So far I think its sorted, however, we are keeping an eye on it every time it rains. I have double checked on the leisure battery and it is charging ok on EHU. The 40amp inline fuses, would they be what I mentioned before about the metal strips in the black plastic cases inline with the charger and leisure battery?
  2. Hi guys, thankyou for all your help and guidance! I agree with you that I need to get an auto electrician to have a look, as I am no expert in this area. It is frustrating for me not to be able to resolve the issue, however, there are other things I can be doing to improve our MH. We are currently looking at fitting solar power and/or a power station, so no doubt I'll be on the forums again soon bugging everyone! Thanks again
  3. when it is on EHU i'm pretty sure it charges the leisure battery (will test for sure tomorrow). I am not convinced there is the front end cabling for the 12v fridge. With no visible inline fuses/relays in the engine bay or anywhere else, perhaps it was never finished properly when being built, or one of the previous owners changed the alternator or battery and didn't refit the wiring loom or whatever...
  4. Hi, not sure what you want me to test, When I tested JP11 connector before, I was getting a 12v reading on 1 and 2 red cables, when I tested 3 red cable there was nothing with or without the engine running and with or without the fridge set to 12v. The wires from the NE129 fusebox go straight into the black corrugated trunking that goes around the van, threre are no visible inline fuses or relays in any of the areas mentioned by people, or anywhere else I have looked... The leisure battery has no other cables running from it, other than the positive and negative.
  5. Hi tested the leisure battery before and after engine running and the results were the same - 12.21v. Suggesting that it doesn't charge the battery up. I have not found any inline fuses or relays in any of the usual places either
  6. Hi Labby, thankyou for all your help! How do I check if the leisure battery is being charged with engine running?
  7. ok that could be possible, but when I tested JP11 I did not get any voltage on wire '3' even with the engine running, what does that suggest?
  8. Hi, took the fuse cover off (NE129) here are the photos. Tested JP11 and 1 and 2 had 12v, 3 had nothing with or without engine running and fridge set to 12v. As you can see from photos J6 (I presume the bayonet next to the yellow capacitor had no wire attached. J4 and J5 bayonets nothing as well. Does this indicate something i.e its not wired up?
  9. Checked all the fuses and all ok, all were getting 12v to them as well. Have not unscrewed the fuse box as yet, we don't have a retractable step in the doorway. getting to dark outside to check/follow wiring anyway will have another look tomorrow.
  10. Hi Keithl, tracing the wiring is a touch awkward, they appear to go upwards to the control panel, then down the inside of a cupboard, under the floor and across to the water heater area under the dining seat. This bunches up with several other cable conduits that ultimately go through to the cab fuse box. Tracing the wiring downwards from the inspection panel they appear to go through into the cupboard below the hob/grill, then across, presumably to the water heater area again.
  11. Hi, yes I did try it with the engine running and fridge selected to 12v... still no joy. Would there be the possibility that it was never wired up for 12v anyway? There are no extra wires or fuses connected to the leisure battery, all the usual places for relays/fuses have nothing. Is there any other people that have had a 3 way fridge only set up as a 2 way?
  12. Ok, I have tried again and I did get 12.2v when testing the purple (red probe) and white/black (black probe), still not getting anything with the red wire though. It must of been user error yesterday... sorry! The gas light flashes whilst igniting, then goes solid yellow on ignition, the 220v goes solid green.
  13. Hi, I'm pretty sure the guy we bought it off doesn't know about the fridge 12v, as he never bothered sorting out the gas side to it either. When I get home from work I will have another look at your suggestions. Thanks
  14. Hi I have tried a voltage tester on the cables (in the access panel) with and without the engine running and no alarm sounded, shouldn't It have worked if there was 12v running through?
  15. Hi, I have checked the connector- no issues, tracing the wires, they seem to cross under the floor to under the dining seat where the water heater is, joining that wiring and then through into the fusebox behind the drivers seat. There is power to each of those fuses, but could the problem be inside that fuse box leading away to the fridge?
