  1. Not in the cold weather brrrrrrrr, nothing left to see.
  2. Hi. we travelled to Spain January 2023 and had a couple of days of snow in Burgos. Whilst not expected I was prepared with snow socks and a folding shovel. peter
  3. Over the last 5 years ( I am now 74) I have found driving in the dark more and more difficult. i now actively avoid driving in the dark. I think it’s just an age thing.
  4. What’s the point of having it if you don’t use it?
  5. Hi. Used our Moho’s in winter both in the alps in winter and when travelling south to Spain. If it’s cold enough to leave on overnight ( had It below minus 10 for a week or more when parked in valley bottom) I usually leave on a mixture of electric ( low setting) and gas. If it’s going to be really cold eg trip to alps in winter I also have both an electric oil rad and a fan heater.p and use as necessary ( to be fair the rairly need oil heater or fan.. they stay packed in back but have had to use occasionally) if I am heading south and it just below zero I leave on overnight at low temp ( usually dial in 12 degrees c or if on the old style dial experiment around number 1 or 2 ) then get up and turn up in morning. we leave on 24/7. Yes it eats gas but don’t want to freeze up. It has worked for us in winter in Switzerland and French alps. Even needed it on 24/7 in lakes in January. also if it freezes leave your grey waste open and put a bowl under…..you can empty the giant ice cube daily. remember they use moho’s throughout year in cold countries so just take care. More of a concern if you have outside underslung fresh water tank then get a tank heater.
  6. Think about length of veuicle. I favour 6m max cos it makes it easier to park in towns etc, plus can be cheaper on ferries ( we are currently in Scandinavia and ferries across fjords are much cheaper for <6m). I also favour panel vans cos they are narrower which aids accessibility and parking. we have favoured Globecars and Possl, with fixed bed. Our typical travels are 6-8 weeks at a time. Longest trip, 90 days. my advise would be to hire different layouts and see if they suit your lifestyle.
  7. I hesitate to say it but Sweden is still good for moho’s. Yes, increasing numbers but over last year and this year, in May June, still plenty of space in sites and no problems with finding space off sites. I don’t think we will come to Norway again. Perhaps Finland or the Baltic states?
  8. We are in Scandinavia, drove up through Sweden ( mostly fairly empty campsites this time of year) hopped over to Narvik and then south through Norway. Last time we were in Norway, 2013, we only saw one Uk Moho and most camp sites empty. Now, Uk moho’s seem a dime dozen, all the campsites are busy. Currently in Geiranger ( empty in 2013) which is packed with moho’s plus two cruise ships so the place is heaving. i know that life is changing, and becoming busier, and it’s very selfish to want to keep these place# empty, BUT for me, it has taken the adventure away. I travel to get away from the British and tourists in general. Now moho’s are everywhere and everywhere is busy. I still enjoy travelling, Norway is stunning, but some of the magic has been diluted. Thats it, rant over Peter
  9. The Aire is currently close. We rocked up yesterday evening to find it barriered off, all the dump points taken away. Sooo, luckily the campsite is open and they said it was being refurbished it electricity. Opening later, possibly June. peter
  10. Thank you for that link Derek. we our model is a D line, so that’s a positive, plus we purchased in sept 2021 but I beleive it was built early in the year. This is our fourth Globecar/Possl and have always been very pleased with the build quality but you never know!!!! We did have a problem with a leak around the roof light with a previous model but that was quickly sorted under warranty. peter
  11. Thank you Derek. Very informative as ever. peter
  12. Hi Washing my Moho today prior to travelling at end of week I ribbed along the front of the ROOFLIGHT that has a bead of black sealant. when I looked later I noticed that it looked as if the sealant had been pushed in. See Photos. Now, I cannot be sure that I caused this today or if its been there longer but I feel I should put another bead of sealant where that is, especially as its on the front and will thus take the brunt of bad weather. Soooooooo what is the best sealant to use. Googling this there are a myriad of choices. looking in my toolbox I have, from years ago, a part used tube os Expedite Seelastic black sealant that is still soft and sticky but feel I should be more careful and purchase a modern equivalent. in the long term it should probably be removed and reseated but I haven't really time for that. Your thoughts advice much appreciated Peter
  13. I must admit to doing nothing. i fill the water tank and check the taps work to fill water heater. Switch on water and space heater, yep they work as well. Load up and off I go I have never, in 25 years cleaned my water system ( I do drain down after every trip). I might tip some bleach does the sink for the waste tank. I always leave toilet with fresh blue in it so it’s ready to go. I might wash the van but they usually wash it after service so one wash a year is fine unless it gets very dirty ( I had to wash after driving the dirt roads of Iceland and the deserts of Morocco ). I admit to dusting occasionally and sweeping the floor. Just check everything works and you will be fine. peter.
  14. Hi the tunnel plus other ferries, eg calmac, never recognise my vehicle from the rego. I put in Fiat ducato and size manually.
  15. Hi. I have been using these for 12+ years. They work for me. I use them as an early warning that the cylinder is nearly empty so I can be ready to change. Cheap and cheerful.
