There is a small but I think adequate (that means clean toilets and electricity if needed) campsite at Strontian - Sunart Campsite, Strontian, Acharacle PH36 4HZ. Not the easiest to find as it seems to be at the 'back' of the village through a small housing estate. I'd suggest a quick look at Google Maps and street view before getting there. It has the advantage of not requiring the slow, narrow drive out to the lighthouse except on the day you want to go there.

[Poor radio reception]

For what its worth we had absolutely rubbish radio reception from a mirror aerial and then an internal windscreen mounted aerial on our 2009 FIAT Roller Team.

The only thing that worked perfectly was when we had a specialist audio company fit a wing mounted aerial.

It was worth the cost.

Whilst people are checking their insurance it might be worth checking what your Breakdown Insurance regards as a breakdown.

I got a shock in the summer when I discovered that the breakdown insurance through Comfort states that if the van can move it isn't a breakdown. So brake issues, limp mode etc you can ..... and sort it yourself!

[Fiat Ducato oil level sensor]

Issues relating to the oil level sensor in FIATs have been around for years. We had ours replaced in warranty for out 2017 van. Dealer told us they had done many vans with the problem and on every one when they had taken out the old, faulty sensor they had found that there was a twist in the part of the unit in the sump. FIAT were claiming people weren't starting the engine properly!
